I did a logo for a women's golf tournament. The theme was "safari golf" and it looked something like this:

In other news, work on Sir Ryan's Quest is going very well. I'm about 66.66666666666666% of the way there I think.

[12.13.07]
Here are images from the first two pages of Sir Ryan's Quest.

At this point I'm about half finished with the book.

I used my digital camera to take these pictures because the paper is too big to fit my scanner. That's why they look a little tilted and slightly orange-ish.

I finished a new dummy book today and I feel pretty good about that.

Also, I started real, legitimate work on Sir Ryan's Quest today. Wahoo! December's off to a good start.

Since I've been revisiting some older stuff recently, I thought I'd redo some bunnies I made a while ago. Perhaps you've seen this guy on my site somewhere:

Well, here he is again. Only this time he's slightly different.

I should be finished with the 10th draft of this book pretty soon.

Here is a sample from my new-ish mud book. It features a more compact version of the mud monster below only this time he's having a tea party with some forest friends.

Today I finished the first draft of a new book! Actually, it's not entirely new. It's sort of the rebirth of an book I did a few years ago called Mud. Here's the cover of the original version and a nifty little piece of sample artwork.

This new book of mine (which has no title at the moment) is different than Mud but they have some things in common like, well, a lot of mud.

Nothing new to report. Lots of projects going at once. Here's a few new pictures from Sir Ryan's Quest.

Look! I have business cards now.

[08.13.07]
I finished working my first mural today. Here is a picture. Click on it to see it slightly enlarged. It's painted on a wall about 10 feet by 12 feet, I think. Anyway, it's big. Those trees are six or seven feet tall.

And so that you know it's good stuff, here's the Jason Deeble seal of quality.

More than anything else, people email me asking for more outfits on my Dress Up Jason game. Today, I added a cowboy, a football player, a viking, etc. I'm not finished yet but you can check it out anyway.

[08.06.07]
I started work on a mural today. My friends wanted to decorate the their kids' play room with a picture from Where the Wild Things Are and have asked me to help them out. They are very nice people with very nice kids. I will paint them a very nice mural. I'll post pictures later

I've always wanted to write a graphic novel and today I took my first step. Today, I joined the ranks of Art Spiegelman, Marjane Satrapi, and Frank Miller!

I completed page one (rough draft - of course) of a yet-to-be-named masterpiece about bugs! It's got action, adventure, and ample attenae. If you have an idea for a title, send me a message by clicking HERE.

I updated the Studio Tour page so that you can enlarge pictures when you click on them.

I finished the first draft of a new science dummy book today. It's all about chemistry and wonderfully super cool stuff like that. Now, it's off to my pal the chemistry professor at Connecticut College and to my agent in New York. I hope they are as tickled by pictures of elements dancing as I am.

Whoops! Looks like I spoke too soon (I have a habit of doing that). Sir Ryan's Quest is the only book of mine to be coming out any time soon. Sorry to have misguided you.

[05.19.07]
Wow! I just came from a really cool party. Grace Lin has a new book that came out today and she invited over all sorts of people to celebrate with her. There were cupcakes galore and more M&M's than you could shake a stick at. And her new book is really great! Check out her website to find out more.

Do you like science?
Well, I do and I've been spending all my free time working on a nifty little science book. It's been two months since I started work on it and guess how many drawings I have done. One. But it's a good one. At this rate I will be finished with my new science book sometime around 2020.

Also, I've discovered that I have wild turkeys living in my backyard. Now that the weather is nice I leave the windows open while I draw and listen to them gobble at each other. Ah, the soothing sounds of turkeys...

My wife and I (and our two cats) are moving into our first house! It has a lot of stairs but I now have an beautiful view from my desk on the top floor. Surely, this will be an inspiring place to make up stories.

[03.08.07]
Wow! February came and went pretty fast. Nothing much has happened but I am working on a new project. Lots of projects, actually. I just can't get my brain to stop! Ever have that problem?

[02.01.07]
January has been a VERY busy month. So many things have happened, I'm not really sure where to begin. I guess I'll start with the very big news:

  • Roaring Brook Press, the folks who will be publishing Sir Ryan's Quest, have decided they like another one of my books called Alien Neighborhood. I have no specifics at this time other than that but that's still some very exciting news.
  • I had to shut my website down for a while this month but it's back online now.
  • A site called Dressupgames.com has added my Dress-Up Jason game to their list of fun games. They are a very cool site. Check it out.
  • The Search for the Secret Chicken game is gone. It was causing problems and some users weren't playing nice.
  • I'm fixing my Contact page. It should be working soon.
