Studio Tour

This is what my studio looks like, I've got a desk for drawing and a desk for computer stuff. If you look hard enough you might spot my cat Poe who loves to sit by me while I work.

Take a look at the pictures below to see how drawings evolve as a story developes.

This was a concept sketch I did for a book. It was quick and messy and I really liked the way it looked.
This time I tried to clean it up a bit but still keep the sloppy look of the first sketch.
And here's how it looked a couple of times later.
And once again.

I made this sketch of a person made of pots while I was watching t.v. I thought it was funny and I developed a story around the idea of a pot person.
I worked him in as a character and drew a scene I wanted in the book.
I liked how dark the second sketch was so in this drawing, I covered everything in shadow. I think it looks pretty cool.
Here's how it will look in the finished book...well, sort of. The final printed page won't be this dark.

This initial pencil sketch took me all of twelve seconds to produce. I used it just to get a sense of the composition I wanted in a picture.
This one took a little longer than twelve seconds. I worked in detail, how I wanted the shading to look, and switched around a few characters.
I finished this one off with colored pencils.
